There are a few things that can make you hesitate between buying Labrador Retrievers from a breeder and adopting a rescued adult dog. The first question to ask yourself is whether you are ready to take the responsibility to raise a puppy with all the costs involved. It needs much time and attention, a firm hand in training and a regular veterinary care. If you take a Labrador Retriever from a rescue organization you do not have to face all these issues. Your pet is already spayed/neutered, vaccinated and well-mannered. However, you may not want an adult dog for it cannot live with you for so many years like a puppy can. There is something to think about, isn't there? Weigh all the pro's and contra's and make your choice. Yet, whatever decision you make, keep in mind that Labrador Retrievers make excellent companions and will surely brighten up your life. You may adopt a Labrador Retriever in a rescue organization or a breed club that is involved in rescue. Be ready to answer a series of questions as to your ability to keep a Labrador Retriever. Rescue members want to make sure you are aware of the breed's specifics and realize all the costs of owning the dog and time involved. Since Labrador Retrievers are sociable dogs that need being around people, preference is given to those who spend most of time home. The breed is not recommended for people with allergies. Labrador Retrievers also need much grooming and training. Labrador Retrievers - Breeders - Clubs Links
